Painting
I started painting when I was 12, inspired by Japanese woodblock prints, and took some lessons with the noted painter Robert Kulicke, who was for many years my mother's companion. Alas, girls and bass guitar got in the way. The painting ceased. Then, in the summer of 2000, my wife and children and I started spending Augusts in Orient, Long Island. Inspired by the low-slung landscape of marshes, bays and beaches, I bought some new brushes and paints. I've been at it ever since, recently expanding my subject matter to include views from Brooklyn and Japan. My paintings are available at the Old Orchard Farm Store in Orient, several annual shows and auctions, and privately. Follow my Instagram (below) at Wendell_Jamieson_Paintings.
