NYC mayoral candidates for 2021 race focus on small-dollar fundraising

  2. Mayor de Blasio’s former veterans commissioner Gen. Loree Sutton raised 201 contributions for an average donation size of $565 – the highest of top candidates, according to the city’s Campaign Finance Board.

  3. Sutton only launched her campaign in November and has collected far fewer contributions overall than other candidates who have been raising money since 2018.
